The situation escalated into an armed confrontation when the individual produced a weapon. Agents responded by discharging their firearms, resulting in the man being transported to a nearby medical facility. His current condition remains undisclosed.
The Secret Service confirmed that none of their personnel sustained injuries during the incident. At the time of the confrontation, President Donald Trump was away from the White House, staying at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Intelligence suggests the man had traveled from Indiana to Washington, D.C. on Saturday, prompting local law enforcement to alert the Secret Service about his potentially suicidal state. The individual’s motivations for approaching the White House remain unclear.

The DC Metropolitan Police’s Internal Affairs Division has taken charge of investigating the shooting incident.
This event recalls a similar occurrence during Trump’s presidency in August 2020, when Secret Service agents shot a 51-year-old man who had fired shots toward the White House before charging aggressively at agents. The suspect was wounded in the torso, and President Trump was briefly evacuated from a press briefing before returning to continue his address.
