The celebration continued when Harper’s mother, Hattie Mae Sullivan, revealed additional joyful news on November 8. She shared a photo featuring the newlyweds displaying a positive pregnancy test, expressing her excitement about becoming a grandmother. Sullivan wrote, “Now Everybody has congratulated me on Triston and Paris getting married but to me that is old news but now I’m bout to be a ‘G Ma,'” adding “#TeamPink #TeamBlue #BlessingsonBlessings.”
While Harper, who shared the pregnancy announcement photo on his own social media, hasn’t provided further details about their expanding family, his journey to this point has been remarkable. The “H.O.P.E.” singer captured audiences’ attention during Season 22 of “American Idol,” where he placed fifth, competing at age 15.
His audition touched viewers as he opened up about his challenging childhood in McIntosh, Alabama, including experiencing homelessness with his mother, who had him at age 21, after his twelfth birthday.

Sullivan, mother to three other sons, remained a constant presence throughout Harper’s “Idol” journey, attending numerous performances. Following his elimination, she’s taken an active role in advancing his musical career.
Speaking to AL.com in June, Harper acknowledged his mother’s dedication, saying, “The night I got eliminated, she hopped on it that same night and has been getting me gigs, bookings. We went the other day and had rehearsal for the band. … She put all that together to where I could be able to keep pursuing my career, and not just be waiting, while it’s still hot.”
