House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced that multiple Connecticut Democratic lawmakers received bomb threats on Thanksgiving that were signed “MAGA.”

“Threats of violence against elected officials are unacceptable, unconscionable and have no place in a civilized society,” Hakeem Jeffries’ office said. “All perpetrators of political violence directed at any party must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

These incidents affected nearly all Connecticut House and Senate Democrats, including Senator Chris Murphy and Representatives Jim Himes, Joe Courtney, John Larson, Jahana Hayes, and Rosa DeLauro. According to Jeffries’ office, law enforcement found no explosive devices at any of the residences.

The announcement follows recent threats made against Trump’s Cabinet nominees. On Wednesday, potential appointees faced death threats, bomb scares, and swatting incidents.

“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and Administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them. These attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting.’ In response, law enforcement and other authorities acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action,” stated Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt.

“With President Trump as our example, dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us,” Leavitt continued.

These threats emerged amid criticism from media outlets and prominent Democrats, including Bill Clinton, regarding Trump’s Cabinet selections, particularly concerning their support for his America First policies.
