Trump Can Attend Son’s Graduation

Former President Donald Trump won a significant victory amid his current New York trial as Judge Juan Merchan ruled that the former president could attend the high school graduation of his son Barron. The win came as the former president was also fined by the judge over allegations that he violated the gag order surrounding the case.

Merchan said that the graduation date of May 17 would not be a problem for the trial. The former president’s legal team argued that he should be allowed to attend the graduation of his youngest son.

Trump said that his son was a “great student and he’s very proud of the fact he did so well and was looking forward for years to having his graduation with his mother and father there, and it looks like the judge isn’t going to allow me to escape this scam. It’s a scam trial.”

The judge did not say whether or not court would be in session that day or whether or not Trump would be allowed to not attend the proceedings that day.

The former president is on trial in New York over allegations of actions taken after a reported brief relationship with adult actress Stormy Daniels. Trump denies any wrongdoing in the case or that the alleged liaison took place.

The former president faced a $9,000 fine over nine alleged violations of the gag order put in place by the judge barring Trump from making statements about witnesses, jurors or court officials.

The former president deleted the comments on social media, but also heavily criticized the judge.

Trump called the trial a “total Witch Hunt.” He said that the testimony heard during the trial were “nothing except EXONERATION AND LIES.” He also accused the judge of accelerating the trial to “make all of his friends happy.”

Trump accused the judge of being “Rigged, Crooked and above all, and without question, CONFLICTED. It’s a disgrace to our Country — They’ve taken away my Right to Free Speech. ELECTION INTERFERENCE!!!”
