Don Jr. defends VP Vance against unnamed GOP critics
Listen To Story Above
In a recent development, The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg published leaked Signal communications, prompting The Jewish Insider (JI) to report on what many consider a manufactured controversy regarding standard encrypted messaging practices among government officials.
The use of encrypted communication apps has been a common protocol across multiple administrations, including Obama, Clinton, and Trump. However, media outlets are now attempting to sensationalize these leaked messages into a major controversy.
The leaked communications unveiled discussions about military action against Houthi targets in Yemen, where the Vice President expressed some hesitation about the proposed strikes.
I explain exactly why the Signal story transformed into an anti SecDef Pete Hegseth crusade.
The attacks against Pete Hegseth reveal a deeper fault line within the GOP. The neocons who reluctantly voted for Pete are out for revenge. It's not going to work.

These messages, which included exchanges with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and other officials, demonstrated thoughtful deliberation among colleagues facing a critical decision. Such careful consideration before taking military action should reassure the American public about the decision-making process.
In a subsequent report published Thursday, JI suggested that Vance’s cautious approach to the Houthi strikes had raised concerns among certain GOP senators, though most sources remained unnamed. Political observers note that these anonymous critics appear to be establishment Republicans often criticized as RINOs.
When JI sought Vance’s response to these allegations, they received a statement from Donald Trump Jr., which the vice president’s office endorsed.

Trump Jr.’s response was particularly pointed:
“These seven cowardly neocons attacking J.D. anonymously are genuine pussies.”
“If they really feel this way, then they should at least be man enough to put their names to these quotes,” Trump Jr. told JI in a statement.
“The fact that they are too cowardly to do that is exactly why I’m so happy that these RINOs are a dying breed in our party ā whether they realize it or not.”
