Donald Trump Opens Up In Recent Interview About His Concerns For His Family’s Safety

In an interview airing tonight, former President Donald Trump voiced his concerns about the safety of his family and close associates, following two recent assassination attempts on his life.

Speaking with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade, Trump reflected on the increasing dangers he has faced, particularly after surviving a shooting incident in Pennsylvania in mid-July, and narrowly escaping another attempt last weekend, where a rifle-wielding individual, allegedly a Democratic donor, was apprehended on his golf course.

“I do. I do,” Trump said when asked if he worried about his family’s safety. “I don’t talk about it, but I do. I have to worry about family. I have to worry about everybody. I worry about you.”

Trump connected the threats against him to broader concerns about national security, pointing to what he sees as the risks posed by illegal immigration under the current administration. He argued that the country has become more dangerous as a result of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris allowing millions of undocumented immigrants to enter the U.S.

“Look, we’re under siege and no country has ever suffered like we have for the last three-and-a-half, almost four years,” Trump said. “When they allow millions of people to come into our country, from prisons, right? From prisons. And terrorists, and people from mental institutions, and they take over our parks. Look at New York – you can’t play Little League baseball anymore.”

In addition to security concerns, Trump touched on the upcoming vice presidential debate, expressing skepticism about the fairness of the event, which will be moderated by CBS News’ Margaret Brennan and Norah O’Donnell. Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance (R-OH), will be participating in the debate.

“He won’t get a fair shot. But he will handle it very good,” Trump said. “I think he’s done great. People are really liking him. He’s tough, smart, he loves our country. He’s going to have no trouble.”

The interview underscores Trump’s growing worries about the safety of his family and associates as he continues his campaign for the presidency amid heightened tensions.
