FBI agents leak immigration raid plans, sparking outrage

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem expressed strong criticism of FBI agents who allegedly disclosed information about an upcoming major Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation targeted for the Los Angeles region.

The Los Angeles Times revealed on Friday that federal agencies had orchestrated a “large-scale” operation scheduled for February in the L.A. area. The publication cited information from “an internal government document” and an anonymous federal law enforcement official.

According to the sources, while ICE would spearhead the operation, both the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration were set to participate.

The unnamed federal source explained that additional personnel were required, adding that some federal agents would likely oppose the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement initiatives.

“[FBI] managers are taking efforts to resist the president’s deportation order … [and] openly referring to anyone who participates as ‘Nazis.'”

Following the Times’ publication, Noem took to social media to condemn the FBI and other “crooked deep state agents” suspected of revealing details about the planned operation.

“The FBI is so corrupt. We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks and prosecute these crooked deep state agents to the fullest extent of the law,” she wrote.

Former FBI Special Agent Steve Friend supported Noem’s assessment, suggesting that bureau insiders are actively working to undermine President Donald Trump’s illegal immigration policies by identifying and isolating agents who back Trump’s agenda.

“I’ve been informed by multiple people in separate FBI offices that managers are taking efforts to resist the president’s deportation order. They are permitting people to opt out of operations. They are openly referring to anyone who participates as ‘Nazis.’ And they are asking for volunteers — clearly indicating that anyone signing up to participate will self-identify as a conservative and will be subject to retaliation.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi issued stern warnings to federal agents who leak operation details, emphasizing the danger such actions pose to law enforcement personnel.

“If anyone leaks anything — people don’t understand that jeopardizes the lives of our great men and women in law enforcement, and if you leaked it, we will find out who you are, and we will come after you,” she said, according to Newsweek. “It’s not going to stop our mission. It’s not going to stop the president’s mission to make America safe again.”

Border czar Tom Homan expressed concerns about media presence during ICE operations after Tren de Aragua gang members in Aurora, Colorado, appeared to receive advance notice of an operation and escaped capture.

During a Fox News appearance, Homan stated that media involvement in various raids needed to be reconsidered. He also warned potential leakers of legal consequences, suggesting they might face arrest.

Homan emphasized the serious nature of these operations and the risks faced by law enforcement personnel during raids.

In January, television personality Dr. Phil McGraw joined ICE during a Chicago operation, noting the high-risk nature of the mission. He defended the agents’ work and clarified the targeted nature of their operations, explaining that they focus on serious criminals rather than conducting indiscriminate neighborhood sweeps.
