Hezbollah Attacks Israel With Missiles
HEZBOLLAH Missile ATTACK on Israel
The Iranian-backed Hezbollah launched missiles at Israel on Saturday, striking a soccer field in Majdal Shams, northern Israel, close to Syria, where kids were playing. According to preliminary accounts, there are eleven dead and 29 injured, many of them children.
Not long after the event, the IDF issued a statement accusing Hezbollah. “According to the IDF’s tactical assessment and intelligence. This evening, Hezbollah launched a missile at a Majdal Shams soccer field, killing several, including children.” Israeli security forces and medical personnel evacuated injured locals.
American-based Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was informed and appraised of the circumstances, according to a political source. Additionally, they promised that he would go back to Israel “as soon as possible.”
TPS News stated that Netanyahu “made clear that Israel will not allow the murderous attack to pass on by simply, and that Hezbollah will pay a heavy price for this that it has not paid to this point.”
TPS reported that Sheikh Muafek Tarif, the spiritual leader of the Druze people, called the attack “cruel and murderous.”
On Saturday, the IDF recorded 30 missiles coming into Israel from Lebanon. Hezbollah is de facto in charge of Lebanon. Israeli journalists Ben Caspit and Dafna Liel translated a note on X that Foreign Minister Israel Katz said, “We are approaching the moment of an all-out war in the north against Hezbollah; we will react disproportionately,” during a TV news program.
The strike was denounced by the Biden White House on Saturday night. “We deplore the horrific assault that killed multiple youths and adolescents as they were playing soccer in Majdal Shams, northern Israel, on Saturday night. We send our sympathies to the families of those who have lost a dear one and hope that the injured get well soon.”
Analyst Jason Brodsky, who covers Iran and its proxies for Fox News Digital, stated that Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary-general of Hezbollah, issued a warning in July about hitting “new targets” in Israel. It seems likely that he planned to launch a strike of this nature near Majdal Shams, which would undoubtedly provoke a military reaction. Hezbollah might have believed that Nasrallah could get away with it.
There are several northern Israeli communities home to Israeli Druze. They have been in Lebanon, Syria, and some areas of Jordan for a millennium or more.
Director of Policy for United Against Nuclear Iran Brodsky stated, “That might have been a mistake on the part of Hezbollah, given that a large number of civilian casualties—including children—could alter the north’s conflict. In what manner did we get here? Deterrent lost. Hezbollah believed that US sanctions would restrain Israeli activity in Lebanon. The same escalation that Americans seek to prevent is fostered by their de-escalation policies.”
Israel engaged Hamas in combat twice, in 1982 and 2006. Since the start of the Hamas battle, the IDF claims to have killed 500 terrorists in Lebanon and fired 5,000 rockets into Israel.
