The pair’s relationship blossomed rapidly after meeting on “Chelsea Lately” in 2009, with their friendship quickly becoming intense and all-consuming. However, tensions began to surface when Handler repeatedly discussed Aniston and her former spouse, Brad Pitt, during interviews.

The situation escalated when Handler publicly criticized Pitt’s second wife, Angelina Jolie, referring to her as a “f–king lunatic” and suggesting she had influenced Pitt’s struggles with substances.
Further complications arose during Aniston’s marriage to Justin Theroux. Sources claim Theroux found Handler “rude and obnoxious,” and alleged that she encouraged Aniston to behave like a single woman despite her marital status.
Following Aniston’s separation from Theroux in 2018, she reportedly became suspicious about information leaks to the media, with Handler becoming a primary suspect. The insider revealed that Aniston “automatically pointed the finger at her” when personal details reached the press.
