Major World Leaders Support Trump And America In Assassination Aftermath
Following Trump’s assassination attempt at his rally in Pennsylvania, world leaders have been shocked and concerned.
At a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday former President Trump was rapidly evacuated from the stage by Secret Service after shots were fired. A law enforcement source told Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich that the shooter is dead, and two others are being treated at a hospital in Pittsburgh.

A few world leaders took to X and shared their immediate reactions or condemnations.
“Sara and I were shocked by the apparent attack on President Trump,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote on social media platform X. “We pray for his safety and speedy recovery.” In a video statement released on Sunday, Netanyahu said “This wasn’t just an attack on Donald Trump. This was an attack on a candidate for the presidency of the United States. This was an attack on America. It was an attack on democracy, it was an attack on all the democracies.”
“Political violence in any form has no place in our societies and my thoughts are with all the victims of this attack,” Starmer added.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wrote “the incident at former President Trump’s campaign event in Pennsylvania today is concerning and confronting.”
“There is no place for violence in the democratic process,” Albanese added. “I am relieved to hear reports that former President Trump is now safe.”
“I am following with apprehension the updates from Pennsylvania, where the 45th President of the United States [Donald Trump] was shot during a rally,” Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni wrote, according to a translation.
“My solidarity and my best wishes for a speedy recovery go to him, with the hope that the next few months of the electoral campaign will see dialogue and responsibility prevail over hatred and violence.”
“My thoughts are with former President Trump, those at the event, and all Americans,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau wrote.
The incident also prompted Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to tell reporters, “We must stand firm against any form of violence that challenges democracy. I pray for former President Trump’s speedy recovery.”
Other world leaders who have criticized the assassination attempt include Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and more.
