Malcolm X family demands justice, claims FBI involvement

Malcolm X’s daughters have initiated legal action against multiple federal agencies, claiming they were complicit in their father’s 1965 assassination.

The civil rights leader’s three daughters, representing themselves and his estate, have lodged accusations against the Department of Justice, CIA, FBI, and NYPD, alleging a widespread conspiracy surrounding his death, TMZ reports. The lawsuit contends these institutions were aware of credible threats to Malcolm X’s life before the shooting at Manhattan’s Audubon Ballroom and subsequently engaged in a decades-long effort to conceal their involvement.

The legal filing specifically targets former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, asserting he commanded federal agencies to conduct illegal surveillance on Malcolm X. The family maintains Hoover deliberately undermined security measures meant to protect the civil rights leader, leaving him vulnerable to attack, while allegedly being cognizant of the impending assassination.

The lawsuit further claims that federal agents manipulated witnesses with inaccurate information and deliberately suppressed evidence of their knowledge regarding the assassination plot, according to TMZ.

The family seeks damages exceeding $100 million through this legal action.

When approached for comment, the FBI responded, “It’s the standard practice to decline to comment on ongoing litigation.”

TMZ’s requests for comment from both the CIA and NYPD remain unanswered.
