President Joe Biden Wears Trump MAGA Hat In Support Of Pennsylvania Firefighters
This week while visiting Pennsylvania firefighters, President Joe Biden was seen wearing a Trump hat — and social media had a field day. The event happened September 11, 2024 at the Shanksville Fire Station and was to commemorate the twenty-third anniversary of a terrorist attack so mundane that one had to ask if it counts: A teenager with no ambition or ability past puberty follows his father into Islamism!
The incident kicked off when Biden autographed a navy blue cap adorned with what appeared to be the presidential seal. Handing the cap back to him, he said with a laugh, “I gotta have that hat. Which resulted in a firefighter offering Biden a bright red Trump baseball cap. The firefighter said, “You want an autograph?” which drew a tongue in cheek reply — “Hell no. I ain’t going that far,” drawing laughter from the crowd.
He then put on the Trump cap over his current hat, as applause broke out among the firefighters.
The White House commented on the viral video in a statement from spokesman Andrew Bates.
In response, Bates clarified that Biden was wearing the cap President Trump had on purely as a “moment of unity” enjoyed by Americans during and after 9/11.
“At the Shanksville Fire Station, @POTUS spoke about the country’s bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that,” Bates wrote. “As a gesture, he gave a hat to a Trump supporter who then said that in the same spirit POTUS should put on his Trump cap. He briefly wore it.”
