Reality Stars’ Friendship Ends Over New Cast Member

Mary Cosby of “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” is opening up about her deteriorating relationship with fellow cast member Meredith Marks.

Speaking at the New York City launch of Van Leeuwen’s SLC Scoop ice cream flavor, Cosby, 52, disclosed to Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea”: “I feel like we’ve been on a slippery slope since I’ve bonded with Angie [Katsanevas].”

She expanded on the situation, suggesting that Marks tends to form exclusive alliances and distances herself when others befriend those she dislikes.

The tension between Marks, 52, and Katsanevas, 51, has been evident since Katsanevas joined the series in 2022, initially as a “friend of” before becoming a regular cast member.

Despite past differences, Katsanevas and Cosby developed an unexpected connection prior to Season 5’s filming. This friendship appears to have triggered the breakdown in Cosby’s relationship with Marks, though Marks claims differently, suggesting Cosby’s actions were calculated for TV exposure.

In the Season 5 trailer, Marks states pointedly: “You used me for three years. Yeah, I got the memo,” apparently referencing her loyalty to Cosby during the latter’s Season 3 absence.

The conflict intensifies during an upcoming “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” themed gathering, where Cosby tells Marks: “You’re a sneaky little, snarky little something.” This leads to Marks, dressed as Audrey Hepburn, being ordered to leave the premises.

The mid-season preview hints at accusations of secret recordings during a Mexican trip. Cosby dismisses these claims, noting at the ice cream event that such behavior would be pointless given their existing TV presence. She humorously suggested any recordings would only capture Marks “sipping wine” and displaying victim behavior.

The evening concluded with Cosby, alongside Katsanevas and newcomer Newport, 39, serving the show-inspired lavender and salted caramel ice cream to attendees.

Viewers can catch new episodes Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo, with next-day streaming available on Peacock.
