Recent Polling Shows Kamala Harris WAY AHEAD Of Joe Biden – Dems Grateful He Dropped Out

In a surprising turn, the image of Vice President Kamala Harris has jumped significantly since President Joe Biden dropped his re-election bid in 2024 making her the highest-ranking de facto candidate for Democrats.

The day after Biden endorsed Harris, she started to see her favorability rating rise. At this point, Harris’ average favorability was 37.9% according to a RealClearPolitics data.

This increased to 41.7% a week later and was followed by another increase in August, reaching 45.5%. Harris currently has a 47.2% rating as of Thursday.

Less than two weeks ago, some surveys were showing her unfavorable ratings exceeding favorable by more than 20 points — an improvement from late June/early July.

According to RealClearPolitics, Trump currently holds an average favorability rating of 44.2%, making him slightly less popular than his Democratic rival Kamala Harris for the first time in their running careers. Moreover, her popularity is even higher than President Biden’s own favorability which was lingering just above 40% on Thursday.

Polling in key battleground states also shows the vice president’s increasing popularity. Harris is actually faring better against Trump in critical swing states than Biden, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday.

Trump has been leading comfortably over Biden in states like Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina — but now Trump is ahead by only one point in North Carolina and behind 1-2 points to Harris on all three.

Amid criticism for not making herself more available to the media, Harris will speak in a taped sit-down with CNN anchor Dana Bash set to air Thursday night. She will be joined for the interview by her running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

Nearly 40 days after Biden dropped out of the race, Harris has yet to roll out a detailed policy platform on her campaign website.

Her limited push for policies like price controls on groceries, a 25% unrealized capital gains tax and federal assistance to first-time homebuyers so far has been panned by economic analysts and Republicans alike as unconstitutional.
