Swift and Kelce’s relationship is poised to strengthen despite their recent professional disappointments, according to relationship expert Jaime Bronstein in an exclusive interview with Page Six.
“They have to lose to appreciate winning,” Bronstein explained Monday, addressing Swift’s Grammy disappointment and Kelce’s Super Bowl defeat. “Things were almost too perfect for them, and to be humbled in life, as an individual and as a couple, is a beautiful thing and I believe it will make them stronger.”
The relationship therapist suggested that encountering challenges could actually benefit the duo, both 35, following their fairy-tale relationship beginning. She emphasized that conflict-free relationships often lack depth, noting that relationship tests allow partners to display their genuine selves.

While acknowledging the couple’s financial success, Bronstein stressed that wealth isn’t everything in relationships. She pointed to Swift’s visible concern during Kelce’s game as evidence of genuine empathy – a crucial component for lasting partnerships.
To navigate their current challenges, Bronstein recommended maintaining strong physical connections and showing unwavering support. She emphasized the power of expressing unconditional love and suggested professional counseling as an option if needed.
“They’re going to rise again, just like everybody does,” Bronstein predicted. “There’s highs and lows in life. They’re going through a blip and they will both rise again because they’re superstars. They love what they do. They’re both so talented. They’re going to have their ups again.”
The couple’s recent setbacks mark their first major professional disappointments since beginning their relationship in Summer 2023. Despite receiving six Grammy nominations, Swift left the ceremony without awards, though her nominations were historically significant. A source close to the situation revealed that Swift remained positive, stating, “She didn’t feel snubbed whatsoever and is grateful for an incredible year, the journey she’s had with the Eras Tour and being on the road with all her fans.”

This outcome contrasted sharply with her previous year’s success, when she secured two Grammy awards for “Midnights.” Kelce had celebrated those wins, saying at a press conference, “She’s unbelievable, she’s rewriting the history books herself.” He added, “I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and bring some hardware too.”
Their relationship peaked when Kelce’s team won the 2024 Super Bowl, inspiring lyrics in Swift’s song “The Alchemy.” However, this year’s Super Bowl ended in disappointment with the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Eagles. Kelce appeared dejected afterward, while Swift watched anxiously from her suite.
Despite these challenges, Bronstein remains optimistic about their relationship’s future, provided they maintain their commitment to working through difficulties together.
“If they can do that and if they can still have the confidence to love themselves, they can 100 percent get through this,” Bronstein concluded.
