Tim Walz Dodges Questions On Hostage Deaths

News broke on Sunday that six Israeli hostages were killed in Gaza, including American-Israeli citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin, and many Americans are outraged and demanding answers. The heinous act, conducted by Hamas in support of their ongoing assault on Israel, put into bright light the weak response coming from the Biden-Harris administration.

As the crisis unfolded, former Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, vice President Kamala Harris’s Vice Presidential pick, sidestepped the crisis of the day. In Minnesota, visiting the Minnesota State Fair, a reporter asked Walz how he felt about the hostages’ deaths. But instead of a strong response, Walz dodged the question entirely and walked away without a word of substance.

“Okay, thanks everybody,” he had said before walking away and leaving the room.

Many have looked at this as a consequence of the weakness of the Biden-Harris administration, which, to critics, has emboldened Hamas, among other America-hostile elements. Despite a call by the administration earlier in the week for the hostages to be released, Hamas showed no mercy, executing six innocent lives.

Hersh Goldberg-Polin’s parents had issued an impassioned call for their son to be returned safely, speaking at the Democratic National Committee with fervency. All of their pleas, however, were given the brutal reality of Hamas, and further showed the administration failed to protect its citizens.

In reaction to the grave news, former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in criticizing the Harris-Walz ticket and their profound lack of leadership and the tragedy that has stemmed from such a lack.

“We grieve the senseless death of the Israeli Hostages, horrifically including a wonderful American Citizen, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, murdered by Hamas due to a complete lack of American Strength and Leadership. Make no mistake — This happened because Comrade Kamala Harris and Crooked Joe Biden are poor Leaders. Americans are getting slaughtered overseas, while Kamala is disparaging and making up lies about Gold Star families, and Biden is sleeping on the beach on this 16th consecutive day of vacation. They have blood on their hands!” he wrote.

“Our Country and our amazing people are not safe under Joe Biden, and will be less safe under Kamala Harris. This terror would have never happened if I were President, and it will stop the day I am back in the Oval Office. America will be Strong Again, and that will make the World Safe and Secure!” he added.

Meanwhile, the New York Post revealed in a Sunday report that polling from Walz’s home state of Minnesota shows a growing shift toward Trump because Harris’s pick of Walz for a running mate has done little to inspire confidence. The lead that the Democratic nominee had over Trump was cut in half since the announcement, as many voters question the abilities of Harris and Walz to lead the nation during such a time.
