Toddler crosses border alone searching for parents

A heartbreaking video has emerged showing a two-year-old girl from El Salvador, found at the US border, telling authorities she was searching for her parents. The toddler was discovered among 200 migrants, including 60 unaccompanied children, who crossed into Maverick County, Texas.
Footage released by Texas Department of Public Safety captured the young girl, wearing a pink jacket, responding to officers’ questions about her journey. She carried a yellow paper containing contact information.

“With my mom and dad,” the child responded when asked about her destination. When questioned about her parents’ location, she simply stated, “United States.”
Lt. Chris Olivarez remarked on X: “This is a stark example of the precarious journey these children make from their home country and how criminal organizations traffic these children across the southern border and further into the interior. Regardless of political views, it is unacceptable for any child to be exposed to dangerous criminal trafficking networks.”

Additional footage showed numerous underage migrants lined up, stating their ages and countries of origin.
Recent Customs and Border Protection data indicates over 529,000 migrant children have entered the US during Biden’s administration. An August report revealed the administration has lost contact with more than 320,000 unaccompanied migrant children.
Trump’s former border enforcer, Tom Homan, is scheduled to inspect the border with Gov. Greg Abbott. Homan, who previously served as acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement director, announced plans to utilize military personnel for “non-enforcement” duties in migrant deportation efforts.
