Trump Calls Harris “Barely Competent” As A Presidential Opponent
Vice President Kamala Harris has confirmed her first debate with former President Donald Trump, to be hosted by ABC News next month. However, Harris did not agree to the September 4 Fox News debate proposed by Trump.
A campaign official disclosed that Harris would reflect any other debates “contingent” on Trump’s appearance for the ABC News debate on September 10.
While sources told NBC News and Fox News that some communications have taken place with the campaigns about debates aired by each network, neither outlet had confirmed a debate as of Thursday.
At the conference, Trump said Harris “may or may not agree” to all the debates. He said Harris was “barely competent” and knocked his opponent for not doing interviews as a presidential candidate.
Harris’ campaign claimed Trump was “running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to.” Although Trump did agree to an ABC debate, he did so when Biden was still running.
