Former President Donald Trump unleashed a scathing critique of MSNBC while celebrating the departure of host Joy Reid, describing her as a “mentally obnoxious racist” and calling for the network to face financial penalties for what he termed “unpardonable” damage to the nation.
In a late Sunday post on Truth Social, Trump attacked the network, referring to it as “MSDNC” and characterizing it as an unauthorized extension of Democratic Party operations. He specifically targeted Comcast chairman Brian Roberts, praising his decision to terminate Reid’s employment.
“Lowlife Chairman of ‘Concast,’ Brian Roberts, the owner of Ratings Challenge NBC and MSDNC, has finally gotten the nerve up to fire one of the least talented people in television, the mentally obnoxious racist, Joy Reid,” Trump wrote.

“Based on her ratings, which were virtually non-existent, she should have been ‘canned’ long ago, along with everyone else who works there,” he continued.
Trump’s criticism extended to other MSNBC personalities, including Alex Wagner and Rachel Maddow, suggesting the latter’s limited appearances were due to poor viewership. He also questioned Al Sharpton’s continued presence on the network despite allegedly low ratings.
“This whole corrupt operation is nothing more than an illegal arm of the Democrat Party. They should be forced to pay vast sums of money for the damage they’ve done to our Country. Fake News is an UNPARDONABLE SIN!” Trump declared.
Reid, who has consistently criticized Trump throughout her career, joined MSNBC in 2011. Her show experienced a significant decline in viewership following Trump’s re-election in November, with Nielsen Media Research reporting that MSNBC’s primetime audience dropped by 53% in December.

The network plans to conclude “The ReidOut” this week, replacing it with a new panel format featuring Alicia Menendez, Michael Stelle, and Symone Sanders Townsend, according to The New York Times. MSNBC had not provided any response to inquiries as of early Monday.
