Whistleblowers UNCOVER The Horrible Reality Of Biden’s Immigration Policies On Children
Within Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) records released by whistleblowers, some human traffickers in Guatemala may be using the Biden-hailed resettlement program for unaccompanied alien children.
Whistleblowers, who provided documents to Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) allege that HHS is enabling the unsafe placement of children in a rush to place them with adult sponsors without carefully verifying relationships or ensuring safety.
The whistle-blowers’ documents, which include a lengthy criminal referral to the FBI, describe an elaborate smuggling operation in which traffickers have been advertising on Guatemalan radio and coaxing parents to send children as young as four years old alone.
Those children are then processed and released into the “care” of a sponsor, which also is usually an illegal immigrant adult. But these sponsors could simply be the traffickers who brought these children here, instead of family members.
A 16-year-old Guatemalan boy, for example, said he was smuggled into the U.S. and paired with a stranger who claimed to be his cousin after hearing one of these radio advertisements when his father responded to it.
In other cases, a 17-year-old homeless woman was allegedly in care of her ‘brother’ who turned out to be 25, and kept child porn photos on his phone.
Newly released documents suggest the Biden-Harris administration’s lax border policies may have actually caused the breakup of complete families in Guatemala, directly contradicting Democrats’ “unifying” rhetoric.
Grassley said he agreed with concerns over loosening the vetting for sponsors and fast-tracking moving kids out of holding as quickly, clearly to avoid criticism after condemning other administrations’ secure facilities that are now called ‘cages.’
Although the Biden administration is still parsing out changes in oversight, it has taken a harder line when confronted with questions about what happens to those children after leaving government custody. In Grassley’s referral, he asked the FBI to “investigate whether human trafficking and child pornography crimes were committed by Sears”companies as well immediately locate and save these children.”
Whistleblowers testified during a recent Senate panel that once HHS places unaccompanied minors with sponsors, the agency follows up by making just one phone call 30 days later — but has no recourse for a third of those kids it can’t locate.
According to that same study, at least 85,000 fewer children than expected have been reported for the year, and this could suggest a decrease in child welfare reporting by half of all cases from about 45 percent before COVID-19.
The Biden administration paused a similar program for adult migrants from four countries earlier this month after an inspector general audit concluded that sponsors frequently lied.
